Skates like this one are cartilaginous fish belonging to the family Rajidae. This close-up view was captured at a depth of approximately 780 meters (2,560 feet) during a Windows to the Deep 2019 dive approximately 98 miles offshore of the Florida coast at a site called “Stetson Mesa South Mounds.”
