This golden crab, a commercially important species in the Southeast Atlantic region, was seen at a depth of approximately 1,250 meters (4,100 feet) during the fourth dive of the Windows to the Deep 2018 expedition, while exploring off the Atlantic coast of Florida at a site named Blake Escarpment South.
Later in the expedition, we captured video of two kinds of deep-sea crabs, offering interesting insights into these decapod crustaceans.
