Pike-Conger

Meet the pike-conger (Hoplunnis sp.)! These bottom-dwelling eels belong to the family Nettastomidae, which are commonly known as the duck-billed eels thanks to their long, narrow heads and large, bill-like mouths. This spotted pike-conger was imaged at a depth of 789 meters (2,589 feet) during Dive 01 of Voyage to the Ridge 2022.
