This beautiful sea anemone was seen during Dive 02 of the 2021 North Atlantic Stepping Stones expedition. Very little is known about this animal—it is likely an unknown species, genus, and even family. It is believed to have been seen once before on a NOAA Ocean Exploration expedition on NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer, but in the Pacific Ocean.
