Edna Samples
Pictured here are all of the eDNA samples to be analyzed for the Exploring the Biodiversity of Remote Pacific Ocean Deep-Sea Coral Communities with eDNA project. Water samples are collected at sea during an expedition. That water is then filtered on the ship. The filter contains very small holes where the water can pass through, but the DNA is captured on the filter. The filter is then submerged in a liquid within these tubes to preserve it for analysis later on in the lab. Each of these tubes contains one eDNA sample that was collected during expeditions from the remote Pacific islands.
